I have a bunch of "Blue Clumping" bamboo seeds I gathered about a month ago.
I'm not sure of the exact species, but the plant they came from is about 12 feet tall and has stayed in a clump.
The shoots have a slight blue color, but then darken into a more brown/purplish color...
Send me a message and I'll send you my address... Than send me a SASE and you'll soon get some seeds.
A friend has been trying to start some, but has had no luck yet.... maybe you'll do better?
No exchange required, but I am still interested in finding a salvia divinorum plant to put in my bathroom.

Fri, September 21, 2007 - 3:06 PMArgh!!! I've been such a flake!!!
To the folks waiting for your seeds, you'll get them real soon!
I've searched around a little and I think that the plant is Fargesia nitida.
On this website you can see a picture that looks quite a bit like mine before it went to seed....

Re: I have Blue Clumping bamboo seeds
Fri, September 21, 2007 - 5:15 PMTrue.. I understand that germination rates tend to be pretty low, but I am told by my local bamboo experts that bamboo from seeds has more "genetic variability", meaning that the plant that ends up growing from the seeds may be different from the original (and other plants from the same source). At least that's how I understood it.
The report from my friend was that she got a few tiny shoots started, but than everything went moldy when she left her roomate to take care of them for a few days.
I'm really tempted to throw some in my rice cooker (the birds love it!), but maybe I'll hold off... ;-) -
